Menorca: Archaeology of Rafael Rubio There are two burial navetas. These constructions are specific to the megalithic culture of Menorca and took their popular name from the naveta located in the property of des Tudons, in Ciutadella, due to their resemblance and because their construction resembles an inverted ship, that is, with the keel towards the sky.

These are collective tombs of a secondary character, that is, for depositing the bones once the corpse had been defleshed in another place.

In many cases, these tombs have burial levels, peculiar to the last moment of the Bronze Age or pre-talayotic period. Some of them still persist in the initial talayotic period. Their constructive characteristics are megalithic, and the interior structure seems to indicate that some type of burial ritual was practiced that is observable in the small antechamber, in the perforated entrance slab, and the apsidal niche.
